Homemade Carp Fishing Baits BIG Hidden Advantages Over “Shop Boughts!”

Friday, September 14th, 2007

By Tim F. Richardson Carp baits vary tremendously in quality around the world and to such an extent that some baits contain ingredients and flavours of types and quantities that can even be repellent to carp after a period of time of introduction into a particular carp water! So much of the reason for this lies in the nutritional value and health and energy benefits you give to your fish in return for them eating your bait, and this can have massive implications regarding your catch results over time. The fact that the majority of anglers use popular, shop - bought ready - made boilies, and bait mixes, can actually give you a massive unseen edge! Shop - bought baits will only provide certain levels and of nutrients, making it easier to catch carp on your own designed bait providing you aim to make a bait with different ingredients, or perhaps of better quality or percentage in your bait to the known shop bought baits being used on your water. For example, if fishmeal baits are working well on your water, why not make your homemade baits with far higher quantities of quality predigested fish and shellfish proteins? Or really raise the level of protein regarding the soluble attraction activity of your bait add loads more green lip mussel extract, corn steep liquor, predigested liver powder, squid liver extract etc. To understand bait from a commercial producers perspective; he must make a profit, so if he can, he will use the minimum of expensive but most often most highly concentrated nutritional / effective carp attractional ingredients, and bulk up their commercial shop bait with less effective ingredients over the long term. This as a major weakness you can exploit over EVERY angler who slavishly uses shop bought baits for fishing and who wrongly expect exceptional results every session due to using these baits. Not only is the nutrition / attraction factors limiting and very standardized in many ways, but so are the ways they are used by anglers too. Also commercially made baits are produced by machine and most often result in identical shapes and densities. This is not always in your interests if you wish to target those big wary carp that have been absolutely conditioned every day to eating anglers shop baits and managing to not get hooked on them. Many big fish actually eat your free baits perhaps 4 or 5 days or longer after you have gone home, when they have been leached of anything that may be associated as a threat to the carp. (Perhaps certain flavours or types of attractors within the bait.) Most anglers have heard of using baits with no flavours in, or using baits that have been pre soaked in lake water to mimic safe free baits, that abound in pressured carp lakes after a busy weekend. Also, one important point to appreciate is that if a carp senses a bait, but does not need more of it to fulfill its dietary needs, its brain will not register a feeding response! That is why being aware of all the carps potential dietary deficiencies and providing for them, is so vital because you will achieve takes owing to perhaps merely one ingredient and its benefit, at times when if this ingredient was absent, then the carp will simply ignore your bait! A carps individual metabolism, programmed caution, mode of picking up hook baits and preferences for specific tastes, smells, eating experiences, and so on, an individual carp may be easier to catch by exploiting this. Finding a bait it likes it can be landed repeatedly over long period of time, e.g. months or even years. This shows that a winning formula does not need to be changed as often as the bait adverts would suggest! I know extremely successful anglers who have used the same basic base mix formula for decades And NEVER use flavors! By using your own mix, you know for certain what ingredients and attractors certain fish prefer, gleaned from experience of past catches and why because YOU know the ingredients used in your own baits! You can catch the same fish on the same basic bait mix in different parts of a large lake, at steadily larger weights, for years, because it wants and needs it, and has accepted it as natural food!!! Carp can learn just like dogs about certain actions and rewards, some beneficial and rewarding, others dangerous and stress inducing. Wary, big fish have been caught TWICE on the same bait on the same day because they wanted and needed a certain bait so much at that point in time! The most wary fish can eat your bait in confidence, in preference to shop-bought bait, even selectively ignoring adjacent baits! If a carp does not require the substances in your bait, it will not eat it. In other words, when foods are available of every kind, to satisfy the carps natural needs, then if he doesnt NEED your bait, most likely he wont even register it as food, unless hes ill, diseased, or mad! Heh Heh And Im sure many of us have direct experience of this extremely frustrating situation! Commercially designed aquaculture feeds, and koi - enthusiast feeds, are rigorously, scientifically tested for optimal growth and health effects. If you want to see this for yourself there are many papers and articles on this subject; especially from sponsored Japanese research institutions and American universities. It is complex stuff and it takes hours to extract information that is applicable to carp fishing bait formulation. (My research , I hope, will give you a clearer, in - depth knowledge of a carps essential dietary needs you can apply in your bait design!) Previously, as baits became more advanced, being based on information gleaned from scientific research, it was made clear that a high protein milk derivative bait would outfit a low protein cereal / bean based bait. Some of these baits had an assumed biological nutritional value of up to 96 % ! These were based mainly on milk protein, milk, fish, shellfish and meat protein. But science has shown that the majority of this protein is not synthesized to benefit the fish at all and is wasted! In fact, baits with a biological nutritional value (or BNV) of 30 % to 55 % or even lower, are just as effective. Costs of milk proteins became uneconomical in the 1980’s for anglers in the UK, and so anglers experimented much more with cheaper bulk ingredients, and their relative ratios to find success much more economically. However, so - called high protein BNV baits still out fished the low-protein, carbohydrate - based baits in the long run, far more consistently and effectively when it came to the really big fish. And this again proved the benefits of using a balanced nutrition theory bait, correct. This theory stands the test of time; still today especially after decades of constant hard pressured carp fishing in the UK, where carp are seriously clued up. By high protein, I mean high - quality in terms of your baits amino acid profile, and other nutrient ingredients. When compared to a carbohydrate bait with a very low quality of these nutrients available. So when you see high-protein, dont assume that 30 - 45% is low. Semolina and wheat flour, 50 / 50 % mix, for example, may only contain a maximum of 10 % protein, if anywhere near that; it feels to us like the difference between eating pasta compared to stake. Its like eating sugar; loads of quick energy benefit, but no essential nutritional essentials are being supplied for essential bodily rebuilding and survival. You dont hear about body builders thriving on a high sugar diet (this can lead to diabetes among other poor diet effects), but on a high protein, balanced nutritional profile diet where every dietary essential need is met. Most Americans and anglers from countries where carp fishing has not yet become an extremely intensively competitive sport may quite rightly wonder; what all this fuss about bait and its quality is really all about, and question its necessity! Even a simple kitchen bait like a homemade corn flour dough, with added coke or canned sweet corn juice with catch all day and probably always will on most low or no pressure carp waters, around the world! A high quality boiled bait approach is not necessary on every water; not every carp has ever seen a boilie bait before, and many carp may not even recognise them as food items immediately! And many waters are so over stocked that there will never be enough natural food, nor anglers bait to supply their needs fully, and any bait from maggots to sweet corn, to bread will always catch their fare share of big fish, regardless of any nutritional needs among the fish population. But on those hard fished pressured waters where big fish have seen practically every boilied bait of every description before and been caught on them previously, they certainly do learn by association, both of the dangers and benefits of eating particular baits. The HNV theory baits have historically simply produced the biggest carp, the most consistently, where anglers are using varied baits of different qualities and designs from attractor baits to the most advanced highly digestible balanced HNV baits. (On high angling pressure waters.) Even where carp are being offered a range of balanced nutritional value type shop bought baits every day, some baits will tend to catch more bigger carp than other baits, and this is where the advantages of designing and making your own homemade baits really pays long term dividends. You see, no one else can go to a shop, buy the new bait youve so been carefully introducing into the water, (to get the fish to feed confidently on it) and then have someone else catch the lakes biggest fish as a result of all your efforts. You will benefit directly from your own unique efforts; and often be rewarded with exceptional and very consistent big fish catches! Good fishing so often results from good bait may yours be more than just the flavour of the month! The author has many more fishing and bait edges up his sleeve. Bariatric Surgery Contributes to Rise in Body Contouring Procedures in Michiana

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

By Jonathan Fashbaugh Elkhart, IN A newly released report from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) details statistics and consumer attitudes toward cosmetic surgery in Indiana, and many of the numbers mirror similar trends in Michiana, according to Dr. Ronald Downs and Dr. Patrick Viscardi of The Centre, P.C. ASAPS reports that 2003 saw a large increase in the number of body contouring procedures, with liposuction being the number one surgical procedure for both women and men. Other body contouring procedures increased by the following percentages: tummy tucks, 42%; lower body lifts, 127%; thigh lifts, 109%; and upper arm lifts, 68%. Some of these increases are attributable to the rise in bariatric surgery, said Dr. Ronald Downs, a member of ASAPS. Bariatric surgery is a relatively new procedure that helps people lose massive amounts of weight. Such massive weight loss can leave skin sagging, so people choose these body contouring procedures to remove excess skin and fat. We are seeing that bariatric surgery in Michiana is also on the upswing. As Indiana consumers continue to become more focused on looks, the facial procedures are also rising. The popularity of Botox in Indiana, for example, contributed to a dramatic rise nationwide in nonsurgical procedures (a 22% increase in 2003). Surgical facial procedures were also up by the following percentages: eyelid surgery in Elkhart and forehead lift in Michiana, 17% each; facelifts, 1% (the number of facelifts on men increased by 23%). We are finding that new techniques that help reduce recovery time for many facial procedures contribute to an increase in their popularity, said Dr. Patrick Viscardi. Most people find a lengthy recovery period inconvenient and costly. With these new techniques, people are back to their daily lifestyle more quickly. The Cosmetic Surgery National Data Bank, sponsored by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), is the most comprehensive collection of data available on the number of surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. ASAPS is the only organization providing 7-year multi-specialty data on the 38 top cosmetic procedures in Indiana. Make Your Own Vanilla Scented Body Spray

Monday, September 10th, 2007

By Lisa Fraley Heres an economical way to make a homemade spray that is great to wear on you, on your clothes or as a quick air freshener! Ingredients: 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract (can be artificial or pure whichever you prefer. I personally use the artificial for this, to me it has a stronger fragrance than the pure.) 1 cup distilled water (longer lasting-regular tap water goes rancid much faster) 1 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol Directions: Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake. After bath or shower spray all over your body. Mist your clothes if you like. Youll smell like vanilla and so will your clothes. Want to make a spray for your daughter also? Try substituting peppermint extract in place of the vanilla. Peppermint extract has a stronger fragrance so you may want to use less of it. Start with 1/2 tablespoon. Add in 1/2 tablespoon increments, up to 3 tablespoons, if necessary until you reach your desired fragrance. Be sure to do a skin test to check for any allergic reactions. Spray a small amount on the inside of your forearm. If any redness, itching, or rash occurs, discontinue and do not use. Experiment with other extracts too. Use lemon extract in the above recipe as a citrus air freshener in your pantry or cupboards. Mist your curtains and/or furniture with this homemade spray to give your room a quick fragrance pick me up. Be sure to test on a small part of whatever fabric you are spraying to check for any discoloration issues. Wedding Planning Budget - Controlling Your Wedding Costs

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

By Jennifer Goodman The number one issue that many couples fight about is money. Tension around money does not necessarily start after the couple has been married for a few years. There is a great deal of stress that goes with planning a beautiful wedding, and money issues can really add to this tension. It is very important to begin a wedding planning budget right at the start of your wedding plans. It is also equally important that a couple stick to this budget. Failure to do so can result in added stress for years to come. Planning a wedding without a budget can land you into some serious financial debt. Although a wedding budget does not sound like a glamorous thing, it doesnt have to be a bad thing at all. So what is the key to planning a successful budget? As it will be throughout your marriage honesty, openness and two-way communication are an absolute must. Newly-engaged couples must discuss how each envisions their special day. It is a wrong assumption for the bride to think that the groom-to-be does not care about the details. It is, after all, the mans special day as well, and he does have a family to please also. Getting Started After the excitement of being engaged wears off, both the bride and groom need to find a quiet place where they can discuss what is important to each other in regards to the wedding day. You not only want to talk to your partner about the wedding plans, but you also want to listen to what they have to say. First make a list of the absolute essentials such as: a caterer, photography, and wedding rings. Then create a list of the extra things that you both want such as: arriving in a limo or horse-drawn carriage, a prime-rib or lobster dinner, a wedding on the beach, flower arrangements and other wants. This information will be useful in helping you create your budget. Assessing Your Finances After you have finalized the list of important items, you will now need to do some number crunching. Determining your current financial situation is a very important necessity in helping to create your budget and can be broken down into these important steps: Determine how much you will have to commit to saving from your regular income streams. Assess how much money you currently have access to from various areas such as: stocks/bonds, real estate, trust funds or saving accounts. Determine if you can expect income from other streams such as friends and family. If youre wedding date is set to occur many months from now then you might want to consider opening a high-interest bearing bank account to get a little extra income. If you will be getting extra finances from other members of your family, then it is important to not make unrealistic demands on what they will be offering you. Keep an open mind and take whatever others are willing to kindly offer you. It is important to not dwell on how much or little they will be contributing to your wedding. Disappointment and anger can only lead to additional stress that you dont need. Make A List Once you have a better understanding of where your finances are coming from, you will then be able to see how much you can allocate to various costs. You now need to make another list of all the wedding related expenses and place a percentage or dollar amount as to how much you are willing to spend for each item. Some of your expenses may include:Wedding Dress ($2000)Honeymoon ($2000) Wedding Favors ($2000) Wedding Reception ($8000) Tuxedos ($1000) Wedding Invitations ($500) Wedding Cake ($900) Wedding Music ($800) Wedding Flowers ($900) Wedding Photography ($600) Wedding Decorations ($500) Bridesmaids Dresses ($1000) Laying out each individual item will aid you when it comes time to contracting out various services. You must be aware that if you should exceed you budgeted amount in one category, then you will need to cut back on costs from another item in order to keep the budget in balance. Finally, to help simplify a number of wedding budget planning tasks, you may want to consider using a wedding budget worksheet, software and the many other automated tools that are available online. About the Author Jennifer Goodman is a freelance writer who loves to provide information to newlyweds and couples planning for their special day. Fishing Gear: Purchase Quality Or Quantity?

Friday, September 7th, 2007

By T Potter If you walk into your local fishing shop, you are likely to find a wide range of fishing gear. For the beginner, it can be hard to determine just what is out there and what you should be purchasing. While you may want to purchase products and gear that are specific to your tastes, it is much more important to purchase products that are of high quality instead. So, what do you look for and how do you know what to get? To know, here are some guidelines you should follow. First, determine what type of fish, what type of fishing and where you are headed to fish. Fishing gear is specific first to the type of fishing that you plan to do. Youll need a different fishing rod for saltwater fishing than you will for freshwater fishing. Now, on to what type of fish you are after. Youll need to know what weight of line you should purchase as well. You may need a heavier line if you are heading out for King Salmon rather than the small trout in your local pond. And, when it comes to the area, youll also need to know what the fish like. Some lures work on fish better than others. You can find this out by talking to the local fishing tackle employee. How much to purchase depends on what you plan to invest. The more that you purchase, though does nothing to make you a better fisherman. What you need is to insure that you get quality products that will withstand your adventure. Quality is always necessary. For the beginner, knowledge is also the key to success. If you havent been out there just yet, you should take along an experienced individual to help you. That way you get the best results and you get the education you need to do it on your own next time. Fishing gear is fishing gear, right? It is not all the same and it is not easy to purchase unless you know what to get. The best way to know what to take with you on your next fishing adventure is to ask the local fishing tackle specialist in that area. They will be glad to tell you all that you need to know to head out. And, they may even tell you where a great fishing spot is located too. This article was written by T.Potter. Family Time Can Be Scrapbooking Time

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

By Audrey Okaneko Involving kids in scrapbooking is a wonderful way to spend family time together. Depending on the age of your kids, they can help you with your album or they can create albums of their own. Step one is going through photos. Children love to look at pictures. Young children love to tell you who the person in the picture is. Older children love to tell the story of the photo or ask you to tell the story of the photo. Both of my kids always love to look at the photos my mom has, many are in black and white. They love to see the differences between life back then, and life today. Of course my mom enjoys sharing with my kids about life back then. Again, depending on the age of your kids, they can help you choose the color of the paper used, the stickers you use, any lettering you use and can help design the overall layout of the page. When you open a scrapbook there is a page on the left and a page on the right. Often, my kids will each design one side. If you have all of the supplies organized, its very reasonable to be able to create several pages in one evening. The adhesives I use are all zots, or precut small squares that are double sided. These adhesives are very simple to use. Even young kids can attach one side to the photo and then when ready peel off the other side and then press into the album. I am not an artist by any means. I also can not cut a straight line. One of the things my own children most love about the albums Ive given to them is that every album has crooked pictures. We truly laugh until tears roll down our faces about how I can not even attach a photo straight onto a page. So, even if your young children do attach a photo a bit crooked, seeing the album, knowing you and child made it together will bring you great joy. If your children are old enough to write, have them do some of the journaling. Help them write their story about the pictures they are putting into the album. Scrapbook pages all should be in sheet protectors, so even small fingers cant smudge photos. It really is a joy to watch young children take out the scrapbook album they helped to create and watch them tell their dolls or imaginary friends all of the stories behind the various photos. Scrapbooking is multi generational, allowing young children and even great grandparents to participate in an activity together. One thing that always makes my own children giggle are the bathing suits my grandparents wore in one photo we have. My grandparents were both born in the late 1800s and so the bathing suits were quite different from what we see today. I was born in New York and so we have photos of me in a baby carriage in the snow. Living in California today, these photos are all of a different place and different time to my own children. They have so enjoyed my own mother telling them about life in New York. Since both of my children are older (driving age) and since we live in California, neither has ever driven in snow. Asking my mom about driving in the snow has provided conversation that would not have taken place if we didnt have the photos and scrapbooks to talk about. Scrapbooking and photos truly are a way to provide conversation, to bridge the gap between generations and to provide a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your children. Mandarin Pure Essential Oil

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

By Michael Russell Although the mandarin tree is most commonly found in southern Europe, South America, and Japan, the mandarin tree originated in China. It was named for the Mandarins: the high officials of the former Chinese Empire. The mandarin tree is a member of the orange family. The pure essential oil comes from the outer peel of the mandarin. The mandarin peel is pressed, and from it comes the flowery, sweet aroma scent associated with the oil. This oil is believed to improve mood and “relieve anxiety”. The oil is really a happy oil, as the smell of the oil gives you the feeling of cleanliness. It is safe for all ages, and children especially enjoy the aroma of the oil. Therapeutic Effects of Mandarin Pure Essential Oil There are many ways mandarin oil can uplift your spirits. Its tart, fresh aroma makes the oil useful for combating depression and sadness. It’s properties enable it to ease distress, and it can even act as a gentle sedative. What can pure essential oil of Mandarin do for me? There are many symptoms and problems mandarin pure essential oil can help with. The list can be somewhat overwhelming, but we will cover some of the most common ailments the oil is used for. For starters, it can be used as a natural cleaner around the house. Just add a few drops of oil to some water, dampen a rag, and clean away. The natural antiseptic properties of the mandarin oil will help clean and disinfect the items or rooms you are cleaning. This is especially good for the children’s room, where you would not want the processed chemicals is some of the cleaners in the air, or on the surfaces the children are touching. Second, it helps to prevent stretch marks. Mix mandarin oil with a carrier oil, such as safflower, sweet almond, or grape seed extract, and rub on your stomach every day while pregnant. The mixture should be cup of carrier oil, and 50 drops of mandarin pure essential oil. This oil is safe for pregnant women, so no need to worry. It only prevents, not removes. Sorry! Third, it can also help relieve muscle cramps or tired muscles. Just mix 10 drops of Mandarin Oil and 5 drops of Geranium Oil in 1 cup of milk, and then add to the bath water. You cannot just add oils to water for obvious reasons. They do not mix. You need some sort of carrier, to absorb the oil, then to mix with the water. This is where the milk comes in. As I said earlier, there are many other ailments, but the list is too long to cover. The main ingredient of the oil is the aroma. This is why it is called the “happy” oil. Just the fresh smell of oranges is enough to relax you and relieve your anxiety. Safety information One of the safest oils to use with everyone. Safe to use during pregnancy. Just make sure to take care. Mandarin oil is slightly yellow and will leave a residue in the diffuser lamp. You must also ensure to avoid direct sunlight if the oil has been applied to your shin. The oil is photosensitive, and will leave brown spots on your skin. The spots will go away with time, but it’s just better to not have them. ——————————————————- Michael Russell Your Independent guide to Aromatherapy ——————————————————- Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell http://EzineArticles.com/?Mandarin-Pure-Essential-Oil&id=112856 make had money since home another business them online very business also hosting this profit had opportunity such make all money way marketing some online such bus his ebay how work very at come home there work while at take home got home each business come idea under work could at were home after work were at and home by jobs both start only work can at which home is

Damned If You Do - My Journey From Loathing To Love

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

By Janet Sinclair Expert is not a title that I could claim in the field of love. Foolish might describe many of the turns I have taken on the road to practicing it. What is this intangible, so called chemical reaction that brings pleasure and pain alike? Is it only: whatever you want it to be? The warm blanket around my life that I call love is interwoven with thousands of colorful threads; invisible traces of each experience that made me rich. I can wrap myself up in these succulent memories of family and friends and my sweetheart, and feel comforting moments when I most need it. I can revel in the ever-changing Today where footsteps of those I love tread lightly and light is left along our passing paths. It wasnt always so. Once there was darkness enough to cause me to cry out in pain and fear. I look back only long enough to feel the motivating revulsion of where-I-never-will-be again. I felt that the power of circumstance barred me from receiving the love that I needed and giving the love that was due. Can there be light without love? Is there for some, no comfort, none of this much-pondered word? I knew as a child how I wanted to be loved. I knew the dreams that sprang from my young heart of being held, nurtured and kissed; the longing for a sweet nighttime lullaby. I knew the attention I craved, the advantages I longed for, and the light that I longed to illuminate the lack. Were there cuddles and kisses goodnight and sweet words and songs? Not that I can conjure in memory. Am I bitter that voices raised in the air and holes punched through the wall superseded my fanciful dreams, and all those innocent, deep, childhood needs? I was. My vision as it were, was on the ground. Grown-up now, the ache of those lost dreams was constant in my soul; gaping evidence of having grown up in a war zone. Were there beatings? No. Was there always food? Absolutely. Did the words of those who were supposed to love and care for us violently contradict everything they did? Every day. Was I confused ? For so long. Did the fact that I never took a hard licking make the memories hurt less? They throbbed anyway. Did the lack of poverty negate the damage to my soul from the constant psychological warfare? I wish it had. Could I see a way to honor those who lectured Honor your parents while dishonoring each other? Still, no. What was my greatest need? Would I chase its fulfillment forever? Is there a instinctual invisible magnetic pull toward that which will truly make us whole? I felt pulled and still do. I looked for answers to silence the sorrow. The message of the majority was loud and convincing, vindication for my grief, anger, and loss. “Blame , give it a name , and shame on those who left you like this. How dare they? I traced generations, literally, citing the sins of parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents past. I delved , and as my questions were answered, a bitter tang of satisfaction rose to overwhelm my sense of loss. It became the lulling, pacifying drug to separate me from the hurt of the what-never-was. Anger seemed a friend, a protector. This vindication was license for so many things, like the freedom to maim those who had maimed me. I was proud of myself for finally standing up for myself, and doing things my own way. It held permission to drown the voice of reason that pleaded to fill the hole in my soul with nourishment, not addiction or rancor. It was almost as if my whole physiology changed to adopt the freedom-that- wasnt. My posture, my smile , my sleep patterns, my eating habits, my ingestion of things that felt good to my body, changed, and stifled my soul. I looked different. The light had faded that once illuminated my journey, and my face, gone. Darkness was the companion I had unwittingly invited in as I adopted anger as a tool to gain freedom from pain . I had started my journey in search of solace and this destination held none. I necessarily reevaluated, the invisible magnetic pull drawing me forward.. This time, it was not others that I was pointing the finger at. Had anyone else held me by the shoulders and led me to turn this way and that? Could I say that anyone had “made me”do anything? Why had I believed the majority ? Why had I run toward the darkness instead of light? Where were those who tender words had once attempted to guide me to peace? Had they given up? Had I lost them , like my self-respect, my ability to choose for myself, and my independence? Oh, the time wasted, and tears shed, only to arrive where I had begun. I was one of the masses, an ant in the hill of humanity, likely to be stepped on and crushed at any time. I had joined willingly with the colony that seethed from the holes and homes that we had laboriously created, and to what end? There was food in the belly, and a small space in which to fit my life, nothing more. The mere movement here and then there, was meaningless.Where were the friendships that meant something beyond the after hours drink?Where was the meaning? God, where was the love? I felt I was nothing. My spirit , nigh lifeless, held no resistance. I was drawn again toward light and love. The fight to find my own solutions was ended in exhaustion . I surrendered to whatever would be. Though terror of the unknown filled me, my being lacked strength to resist. Time passed and I drifted past the friends that had once offered the light .There was no bitterness in them , only warmth and invitation to renew my strength . There was no force, no anthill, and much more meaning than toiling each day just to drag home a crumb. The changes came quickly .I was no longer a worker, I was a Queen! Creator of creations, dynamic and able to influence my world and change my life. Gone was pseudo-freedom. Found was true liberation - that of setting limits, living selflessly and reaching goals finding what seemed impossible-Joy. Light flowed back into me. Amongst the joys, I found something I had left behind to embrace anger. To my horror, there was Sorrow. Had not my painful journey through anger removed this burden? No, I had only ignored it , not eluded it. The sorrow had been cloaked, not removed. Was I consigned to carry the weight of this sorrow? What cruel world would leave me saddled with these emotional burdens that I never asked to carry? Did I ask for a mother that couldnt express love and a father who escaped her coldness?Did I ask for the touches in the dark that shamed my soul so young?Did I own the accountability for habits developed in youth because of ignorance ? Would I always hurt like this? I wanted out, out, out! Surely, anger and darkness were easier to bear than this! Slowly, like the sun rising to illuminate our piece of the earth, my understanding grew. I gained tools every day of my journey to make the pain of bearing the sorrow less. My vision began to rise from the ground to the skies. I moved from feelings of lack to those of infinite and reachable possibilities. Kind and wise guides were eager to distill upon my their learning and experience, for they were free of Sorrow; never shaming or ashamed. Was I worthy to share in their wealth? Yes, because I needed their help, and that was all I needed to be worthy. Again, even my physiology began to change. Others noticed it too, and commented on the light that again surrounded me. Addictions fell away . Appetites were more controlled. A thirst for knowledge became beautifully insatiable. Formerly elusive, balance now presided. There was no one prescription, no one piece of wisdom, and no single path pointed out. There were innumerable, shining threads of love that began to form the protection and comfort that would heal my life and shield me from its ills. Sorrow was spun into wisdom, and experience became my treasure. Did I have to learn anger to shed sorrow? Surely not. There is a light that can guide each of us straight to our destination of liberation. The ignition of it is simply Desire. Could I keep others from meandering down that dark path, my life would be complete. Are you? Breaking by Emily Dickinson. If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.
