Keeping a Healthy Weight

April 6th, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Joseph Kenny These days, more and more people are placing importance on keeping physically healthy. This can be seen by the amount of people who are joining gyms and sports clubs, going on diets, and spending on private health insurance. One of the biggest areas of concern in this area for women is keeping a healthy weight, this is because it not only effects their overall level of physical health, but is also recognised as playing an important role in mental and emotional well being, and self perception as well. Most people know that being both over weight and under weight are not good for you, but health is about far more than just body weight. Things such as your family medical history, your genetic predispositions, how much you drink or smoke, what type of food you eat and how much exercise you get all have a major impact on health. There really is no ideal weight therefore that you should be seeking on purely health grounds. Using your weight as a measure of health therefore is not particularly useful. Obviously there are levels that will definitely be too high or too low, but within these limits, there is a huge range of healthy weights that people will fall into. Much of the worries that people feel regarding their weight are more to do with media images and glamorous advertisements than on what is considered healthy. We are surrounded by images and conceptions of beauty that distort our idea of what a healthy body should look like. Many media images actually show people who are under weight, sometimes considerable underweight, and do not represent a healthy standard or good example to measure us against. If you are genuinely concerned about health, then weight loss should not be the ultimate goal of all fitness efforts. You should try to cut down on cigarette and alcohol consumption, eat healthy food, get a reasonable amount of exercise, and generally take care of yourself. You do not need scientific advice and a professionally designed eating and exercise schedule. More likely what you need is common sense simple changes like snacking on fruits sometimes, walking to work, and visiting your doctor when recommended. Doctor check ups are recommended at varying intervals depending on your age and health circumstances but it is wise to keep up to date with these checkups and not to fall into the trap of constantly procrastinating. If the cost of doctor visits is a serious issue that causes you to skip visits, then maybe you should consider a health insurance plan that will cover such checkups and just charge you an affordable monthly amount. Enhance Your Aura for Better Health

April 5th, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Anthony Garson Auras The aura is a unique field of energy that surrounds all living things, reflecting the energy of the spirit in that body. Its colors, textures and patterns give information about the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual states of its owner. Everything in the universe possesses an energy field around it. Although it is generally invisible to the untrained eye, this energy field or aura extends outward from the object. For human beings, this field of energy is sometimes known as the electromagnetic field. It is ovoid in shape, and its width and color varies with each individual, depending on their level of spiritual growth and physical health. Studies have indicated that illnesses begin to manifest in the humans aura long before they become apparent in the physical body. Therefore Aura cleansing, which is used by most healers to remove sluggish negative energy from the beings energy field, is also a necessary step towards the healing of the physical body. As the aura is cleansed, any denser negative energy in the physical body will be broken up and moved into the energy field, where it can be easily cleared. Detecting your Aura There are many ways your aura can be detected, including through the naked eye, by feeling the energy shifts, thermographs, kirlian photography, aura readings and dowsing. A novice choosing to undertake healing work or auric studies will generally only have access to dowsing rods, a pendulum and their intuitive abilities. With simple guidance and some practice, he can easily become proficient in the usage of some of the above methods, even using them with great accuracy. These are tools sufficient enough to test the energy level in individual chakras, and detect where blockages may be occurring. Aura & Your Health The aura is filled with colors that are constantly changing according to our physical and spiritual wellbeing. A healthy bodys aura possesses a specific color pattern. When the bearer experiences illnesses or changes in moods or emotions, distortions in the healthy color patterns can be detected. The aura, shaped by the constant interaction of mental, physical and spiritual factors, is very dependent and sensitive to our inner and outer environment. Your personality, health status, emotional and mental wellbeing, social factors and surrounding environmental conditions can have a significant effect on your aura. Negative emotional states assert a deteriorating effect on the body and drain the system of its energy. This explains why ones performance level tends to drop drastically during moments when experiencing emotional states such as fear, hostility and frustration. Similarly, low self-esteem and negative social interactions can too weaken the aura and seriously diminish its energy supply. Environmental pollutants such as radiation can also tarnish and distort the aura, which is of a major concern now as background radiation has been rising significantly by factors of thousands in the general population since the Second World War. Then in the 1990s come another breakthrough in wireless technology - the cell phone. Despite the communication benefits it brings about, the radiation the cell phone emits is capable of completely distorting and destroying ones energy field. Simple dowsing can be used to justify this almost non-existence of the aura when one is in possession of the cell phone. Enhancing your Aura Enhancement of ones aura can be done in 3 simple steps Maintain a positive outlook on lifes events; Eat and stay healthy; and meditate frequently to free your mind of any negative thoughts and emotional states, thus cleansing your aura in the process. Meditation is the key to cleansing, healing and sealing your aura. However, if done wrongly, can lead to disastrous effects. Here I recommend a very simple form of meditation for beginners: 1. Sit yourself in a quiet room with no distractions. 2. Dim the room and place a lighted candle about 6 inches in front of you. 3. Close your eyes and relax, controlling and remembering your breath. 4. Take deep breathes very slowly. 5. When you are completely wound down, start feeling the light in front of you. 6. Picture the light forming a layer over your body. 7. Inhale this light, feel the energy building up in your body. 8. Picture yourself glowing. Your aura has become stronger. The meditation can take anywhere between 7 to 20 minutes, depending on individuals. You should feel lighter, more focused and energetic after that. Aura Enhancing Devices There are products that, when placed near your body, will enhance your aura. These products can help accelerate your healing process, both spiritually and physically. They are usually used by individuals seeking constant optimum performance, but are fast becoming a common recommendation by alternative healers for their patients as a form of health enhancement and protection. Online Fast Cash

April 2nd, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kevin_Stith]Kevin Stith Companies generally hold online fast cash for the purpose of meeting the transactions of the business. For instance, cash payments are to be made for the purchase of goods, for wages and for various operating and financial charges. To ensure that the firm is able to meet its obligations when payments become due in a situation in which the disbursements are in excess of the current receipts, it must have adequate cash balance. The cash balances held in reserve for meeting random and unforeseen fluctuations in cash flows are known as precautionary balances. The unforeseen circumstances may be on account of floods, strikes, cancellation of orders etc. Then there is a speculative balance, which refers to the desire of the firm to take advantage of the opportunities speculative in nature. Such motive may be to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase raw materials at a reduced price on payment of immediate cash. There is also motive of holding cash for the purpose of meeting the obligations arising out of bank transactions such as the maintenance of minimum balance in the bank account. There are some of the techniques used by firms for effective management of online fast cash. Through prompt payment by customers cash can be managed. This requires the notification in advance of the amount and the period of payment by customers. A decentralized collection procedure also called concentration banking is a system of collecting online fast cash through a number of collection centers operated throughout the geographical area in which the firm operates. Under decentralized collections, the firm will have a large number of bank accounts operated in the areas where the firm has its branches. Then there exist lock box system through which the firm establishes a number of collection centers considering customer locations and volume of remittances. Discount Fountain Pens

March 31st, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Eddie Tobey Fountain pens are pens that give people not just the joy of fine writing but also serve as collectibles. Fountain pens are usually more expensive as compared to the regular run off the mill ball point pens. As a result, ball point pens are popular for daily use amongst people who cannot afford such expensive fountain pens for regular use. But the ranges of discount fountain pens available extensively, try to compensate for the lesser amount of sales of such expensive fountain pens, by bringing down their prices considerably. These discount fountain pens can be found either in exclusive pen shops or online stores. Some of the pens are also auctioned at prices that are much less than their original prices. In fact, it would not be wrong to say that one’s web browsing abilities can get him/her some decent deals. Discount fountain pens usually make available the new range of fountain pens at a subsidized rate for a certain amount of time. In this way, people who enjoy collecting new and different types of fountain pens can pay less and add another number to their collection. Discount fountain pens make fountain pens available to a large number of people who otherwise might not be able to afford them. These pens are usually within the price range of $50 to $150. Good discounts are usually available only for certain types of pens and the more expensive ones made out of gold, platinum and silver or the elegant, high quality ones are rarely included in the list unless of course, it is a stock clearance sale. This certainly does not mean that discount fountain pens available are not of good quality as they work quite well for many years. Fountain Pens provides detailed information on Fountain Pens, Fountain Pen Cases, Fountain Pen Refills, Fountain Pen History and more. Fountain Pens is affiliated with Fountain Pens. 2 Basic Laws of Weight Loss

March 29th, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Donovan Baldwin Here’s a little statement I’ve made before in various forms and forums. Effective, lifelong weight loss is simple…not easy, just simple. Everyone is seeking the ultimate weight loss secret. However, the “weight loss secret” has been known for years. Simply stated, if you take in more calories than you use, you gain weight. If you use more calories than you take in, you lose weight. In their attempts to wiggle around those two simple facts, people have discovered that some foods, and some diet products, are effective in “helping” you cut down on the calories; and they have found lifestyles, and diet products, that “help” you burn more calories, but two simple laws have remained for healthy, effective, lifelong weight loss and weight management. 1. Get regular, moderate exercise 2. Regularly eat tasteful, nutritionally satisfying foods in reasonable quantities. Do those two things, and your body will automatically adjust itself to a healthier, leaner, more fit state of existence. Are there other things you can do to help the process along? Of course there are. Drink more water, get more sleep, serve meals on smaller plates, eat more slowly…and so on. All these things and many other tips help the weight loss process, but, in the final analysis, it all comes down to those two rules up there. Now, I said that if you do those two things, your body will automatically adjust itself to a healthier, leaner level. Unfortunately, since we are all different…in upbringing, in ethnicity, in learned habits, in likes and dislikes, in daily lifestyle, in metabolism, and in so many other ways, a perfect weight loss program for one person may seem to be not very effective for another. Also, since we may attack our weight loss problem with a different intensity or attitude or expectation, what we perceive as “being effective” may not satisfy our neighbor…or may seem miraculous to him or her. In the absence of individual coaching from a personal fitness trainer, and a trained dietician to prepare our meals, some of our actions in the areas of nutrition and exercise are going to be a little hit and miss. Add into that mix the process by which most of us go about our daily lives…staying up too late, rushing around to get all our obligations (real and imaginary) properly discharged, eating unhealthy food in a state of stress and on the go…and from a point of ignorance…and there is no surprise at that statement I made about weight loss being simple, but not necessarily easy. All that being said, however, most of us can easily make regular attempts to meet the requirements of the two laws I outlined above. We can easily find ways to insert more activity, both planned and opportunistic, into our lives, and we can exercise more control over the food we put in our mouths. A great knowledge of physiology and the science of exercise is not necessary, nor is it a requirement that we be extremely knowledgeable in the science of nutrition either. Most of us are perfectly aware that a five, ten, or fifteen minute walk is probably better for us than sitting in front of a TV watching a completely mindless show. Okay, I confess, I watch “Everybody Loves Raymond” regularly. Hmmm! Why does my wife keep calling me Frank? Anyway, we all understand that a few minutes of yard work is better for us than raiding the fridge for another beer or that other piece of pie. We also know that if we have to slip into the kitchen for something to munch, a handful of nuts or an apple is probably going to be better for us than that piece of pie. Doing the healthy things from day to day is what will help us live up to the two laws I have mentioned. Would we be able to more effectively exercise with a little more knowledge and training on the subject? Of course. Would we be able to more effectively take control of our dietary and nutritional lifestyle with a bit more information? Of course we would. If we have more knowledge about exercise and nutrition, will we be better able to make that weight loss plan of ours more effective? Without a doubt. There is nothing stopping anyone from learning and applying knowledge about exercise and nutrition. No one needs to learn all the knowledge of the fitness trainer or the dietician. A simple, basic understanding of the two fields will suffice in most cases. I would like to make one last point. In both of the two laws I mentioned above, the words “regular” and “regularly” appear. In terms of weight loss, fitness, and health, what you do today is not worth a hill of beans unless it is tied to events either before or after it. To go out and walk a mile today is a good thing, of course, but in terms of weight loss, health, and fitness, it will be a habit of walking a mile a day several days a week, over many weeks which will eventually result in the change you and I are seeking. A good side to this is the empowering knowledge that a slip in our program today is not going to matter that much as long as we get back into the swing of things as soon as possible. If you are exercising regularly and eating properly, a piece of pie at a friend’s house, a dish of ice cream at a birthday party, just one more piece of that delicious pot roast will not destroy all that you are attempting to accomplish…just don’t let it happen too often. What the heck! Isn’t the purpose of a healthy lifestyle the idea of being able to enjoy life? Donovan Baldwin is a Texas writer and a University of West Florida alumnus. Two Marketing Trends that will Affect Your Business

March 26th, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Kevin J. Price The economy and market place are changing rapidly. The growth of the Internet are making consumers more demanding than ever. As a result, marketers have begun to identify a class of people that is quickly being defined as the “Accumulator Class.” This group is one of two major trends in marketing that this article will focus on and it has has the following unique characteristics: * Typically, they are in their mid 30s to early 50s. * They are one of the top income generating groups. They are affluent or are optimistic in their ability to be affluent and want to leverage their time towards that objective. * They are at the point in their careers where earning income for their families and future are among their greatest goals. * They have come to realize that the leveraging of their time is the most important thing they can do to increase their wealth. Therefore, unlike earlier generations that would be inclined to do it themselves, this group realizes it makes more sense to pay someone else to do it (whatever “it” is). They tend to center their lives around convenience and are very demanding. * This group takes control over as much of their time as possible. No longer do they read stale weeklies with yesterday’s news or agree to meet Brian Williams or even Katie Couric at a specific time for information. Many go to the web and tie a few video or audio programs into their own, customized, news broadcast (or podcast). In fact, the average viewer of nightly news is 60 years old. This group is still comfortable with being where its told to be to get the information they want, but they are of little interest to most marketers. * If you are interested in reaching this group of Accumulators, you are going to have to design your marketing towards meeting the specific demands of these drivers. A second major trend after recognizing the accumulators is the rise of educational marketing. In many respects, this is the corollary to the first point. People have grown impatient with advertising and will usually only trade their time for information. Currently, radio stations are trying to persuade listeners to stay with so-called free radio rather than paying for it. Currently, approximately 10 million Americans, most in the demanding Accumulator Class, have made the shift to XM or Sirius. They are willing to pay not to hear advertising. So how are advertisers reaching a reluctant audience? The following are a few examples: * They are sponsoring shows and putting their name on it, like the old days. * They are requiring the audience to look at advertising before they can get their information. Apparently, busy consumers are willing to make a trade off, since recent data has shown that the fastest growing way for getting news is through on-demand resources. * Increasingly, businesses are buying air time in order to convey information, rather than merely doing an infomercial. Many of the radio and TV shows you now see are far more sophisticated than their infomercial ancestors. They know that people will not watch a 30 minute commercial any more than a 30 second one. * These same sources take a multi-informational approach. They provide free newsletters, have programs on TV and/or radio, and virtually always have a website. * Virtually every business is developing innovative ways to use educational marketing and find it essential to their future success. In sum, highly sophisticated consumers are forcing advertisers to give them what they want, the way they want it, and when they want it. These individuals drive the new marketing environment. The only businesses that will thrive are those who develop a marketing plan that acknowledges such. Kevin J. Price is Host of the Houston Business Show on CNN 650 and Publisher of the Houston Business Review at http://www.HoustonBusiness.com. He is an award winning author of several books and has given speeches both coast to cost and around the world. His area in business expertise is the growing accumulator class (as seen in this article) which he believes will drive the economy for decades to come. “Businessese that fail to recognize the importance of this group,” says Price, “will suffer terrible consequences.” Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kevin_J._Price http://EzineArticles.com/?Two-Marketing-Trends-that-will-Affect-Your-Business&id=244416 cheap ambien online hemitartrato zolpidem ambien alcohol experience lorazepam no prescription

Controversial Weight Loss

March 24th, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By George Crocker I have a Gym Membership with a friend, a gym Buddy, I’ve also made Gym Buddies from the Gym itself.I go 4 times a week for 2 hours due to Laziness.I do 20 minutes on Treadmill or atleast 250 Calorie burn or till I break a sweat (running is IMP), before Weight lifting. Now For my diet, its nothing superb as Weight loss is not really in for me, right now I’m just eating normally and Burning at the gym. After my 1 year Sacrifice ( lost 40 kilos Thanks to MyoKa Slimming Club). I couldn’t Continue, I went to America on Holiday and I never went back to the Diet (Damn you Beer and Pancakes with Granola!). I’ve got an Addiction and its called Chocolate, from the age of 2 I used to Eat Chocolate like a Maniac. And I got Very fat. (109 kilos at age 15). Not only that I was taking Prescription Medicine to Ease my ADHD, which meant that the Medicine supplied Slowed my Metabolism and I ate Chocolate to get that Dopamine firing…when they were dead (ritalin makes u very fat). Anyways Now after the Diet, I discovered on my own terms. The Regurgitating Trick, after watching Foxes doing it on their children on National Geographic. It worked well, I’ve eaten Kilos of Chocolate, and Spat it out …I didnt get any fatter…This was Due that each time I eat a chocolate, I get cravings immediately… Although Not solving the problem, I’m making myself Happier and Spitting out the Crap my stomach doesn’t have to digest. Its safer then Vomiting, as you only spit out the BAD food. Also If you Suffer from Uncontrollable Cravings like i did, for any kind of food, there is one food which satisfies food craving and equals 0 Calories. Its called Cigarettes, I smoke them everyday and when I’m hungry all day, I smoke 3 packets…when I’m not I go back to my normal 1 packet a day.Think Cigarettes are expensive? Constant Diets cost more.Think Cigarettes are Dangerous? My Gran never smoked a Cig, but died of Back and Stomach cancer because of her Huge Weight vomiting out Black matter on her Death Bed Croaking. That was my motivation to stop Eating like a Pig, also my Grandads vice was Ciggarettes, He died in his sleep with Bronchitus (wow!). Contrary to Popular Belief: Obesity is more dangerous then cigarettes.Obesity is so UNDERRATED, I’ve been obese and even tried to kill myself ,(Kids are very brutal). When you’re called Milky Tits, Larger than life, Blob the monster, “does it hurt when [milk company] takes of the straps off your tits?” and when girls just make fun of you because you’re so fat.. Thats where it leads Depression, anxiety, low self confidence …much more.. I couldn’t do push ups I couldn’t run ..I’ve been smoking for 2 years…and Dieting for 1 (with help of cigs) and I Can run and I can do push ups…. I do have a smokers cough, but so what ATLEAST I can do it.I can run 4 sodding miles non stop, when before I couldn’t run half a mile. When you are obese you are not normal, you are Sick and it does lead to sickness both mentally and Physically, Lets See your Back Bend with all that weight, your stomach cramp and your Blood Pressure Rise …You’ll wish you ashed in your lungs. To go back to Over-eating is way to easy, what are you going to do when you go on holiday?Take a break from Diets like I did ?!I came back 10 kilos Fatter COME ON ..and I couldn’t go back to my diet. Diet Pills ? They don’t work and are worse then cigarettes. Conclusion: Cigarettes plus Regurgitation might Seem Disgusting, Harsh and Controversial, but overall its cheaper then Diet Clinics. My Mother has been 10 times to diet clinics because she always gives in to Gluttony.Thats $1000 in a years rate. I’d rather spend my well earned money on something that Needs no sacrifice.Anyways Your Last years are the Worst ones..unless you like spending your Time in a Old Persons home day dreaming ….Cigarettes kill millions a year, but if it was as bad as they say it was, they’d be giving the Age of the people who died…but they wouldn’t because people would say “oh but they’re all 76…one is 56 ..”Anti-Cigarette NPO’s play dirty tricks too…Cancer boy ? Oh plz, this Coming from the worlds fattest nation, sounds more like a Call to smoke. Basically: Keep yourself Fit(gym-wise), Smoke and if you feel like that Hit of Chocolate Regurgitate, obviously not infront of people as its quite sick to watch. I’m off. Three Ways Music Can Help You To Lose Weight

March 22nd, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Danielle Rivers Music is the key to the soul. It can lift you up and put a smile on your face or alternatively it can bring you down and reduce you to tears. Music is powerful and fortunately you can use it to help with your weight loss. The interesting thing about music is that the same track or song can induce different emotions in different people. If you met the love of your life during a particular song, then you probably enjoy it and feel happy when you hear it played on the radio. Another person may have been cruelly dumped by their boyfriend during that same song, played at the same time somewhere else in the world, chances are this song brings back all that pain and hurt the breakup caused. Have you ever played upbeat music loudly when working out or been to a nightclub and found yourself dancing all night because the music was so good? Music not only generates positive emotions but it can also help to motivate you. Music can bring out the best in all of us, it makes you feel good and encourages us to move or dance. So how can music help you to lose weight? Here are my top three tips to use music with your diet. 1. Choose your favourite music album and as soon as you wake up in the morning put it on. Listen to it as you have breakfast and get ready for your day. It will put a spring in your step and help you to be positive, you will feel capable of anything and that feel-good feeling will carry you through the day. Being positive and happy makes you much more motivated and you will find sticking to your diet easy. 2. Put music in your car. Listening to the radio can help to relax you after a hard days work. If you get home stressed out and grumpy, you are much more likely to go to the cupboard and overeat. Play music in the car, as loud as you like and have a good sing. Putting all your frustrated energy into singing will help you feel relaxed and give your mood a much needed boost. You will get home refreshed and energetic rather than exhausted and feeling down. 3. If in the evening you are bored watching television you will find yourself going to the cupboard to snack on foods. This is a really bad time for all dieters. Turn off the television and put some music on, do your household chores, have a dance with your children, play games or invite friends over for coffee. Not only are you not overeating but you are also spending quality time with your family or friends. I cannot tell you which is the best song to listen to or even which album motivates people the most. The choice is yours. It will be different for everyone and will probably depend on many factors, age, taste in music, life events, lifestyle, etc. What I can say is have a good look through your music collection and choose several albums, this way you wont get bored too easily and will enjoy the music. Try listening to songs you used to love when you were younger, it brings back happy memories and encourages you to lose those extra pounds Think about buying a personal walkman or an MP3 player, both are small are portable ways to listen to music when you out and about. It might even motivate you into going for a long walk.Get some fresh air into your lungs and enjoy it. Dont look at it as exercise, it is simply getting out of the house to stretch your legs. Good luck with your slimming and I hope the music tips help you with your weight loss. Devotional Thought - Paint

March 22nd, 2008 by glorianemcmurray

By Faithe Thomas Monica had worked in my house in Africa for a few years, but I had never had the opportunity to see her home. At the news of her brothers and fathers deaths, I went to offer my comfort. As I entered the 10-by-12 foot room that housed the fifteen family members, I greeted Monicas mother. In the dim light, I noticed that the room had little furniture to offer two chairs and a bench. I was shown to one of chairs. Monicas mother was sitting on a grass mat. The only window was a slit six inches wide and 12 inches tall. As my eyes adjusted, I could see the room had a fresh coat of paint and well-swept floor. There was no ventilation to cool the room. The sweat dripped from my face and arms. How could they stand to live in this place? I didnt know what to say. I told Monicas mother I was sorry for her loss. Over the next 30 minutes she proceeded to overwhelm me with gratitude. If it were not for you hiring my daughter, we would not have paint on the walls. Thank you for the paint. If it were not for you, we would still have our leaky roof. But you helped to fix it and we remain dry at night. If it were not for you, we would be fighting mosquitoes throughout the night. But you helped us get a screen door and screen for the window. The list went on and on. I had no idea! I thought Monica had used her salary for food. I had gone to minister to this woman, to share of the hope we have in Christ. I went away ministered to and convicted of my own ungratefulness. Have I ever thanked God for the paint on my walls? —- Faithe Finley Thomas lived as a missionary in Ghana, West Africa for six years.
